Diagrammatic painting, in opaque watercolour on cloth, a schematic view of the Jagannath temple at Puri, Orissa, showing the main images within the tower (shikara) of the temple in the centre. The gods Brahma (with many heads) and Shiva are shown beneath the trio. Devotees and subsidiary shrines are shown around the sides of the main temple. Probably by the same artist as IS.33-1978, but in a more vertical format, with the result that the shikhara of the temple is much more tall and slender, and more subsidiary compartmentalised scenes are shown at either side. The Jagannath trio appear in a chamber halfway up the shikhara, with Shiva and Brahma on either side of a Garuda pillar, flanked by a blue-skinned priest on either side.
