Painting, in watercolour on paper, a Mahrata Chief of Kohlapur State, Bombay Presidency. The Chief stands facing the front, dressed in a white choga with green under-vest. Drawn diagonally across the breast is a gold-edged pink scarf, of which the ends hang down the left side. On his head is a scarlet headdress, on his feet brown slippers and in the right hand a silver-topped walking stick.
