Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, portrait of a nobleman in mid 17th century costume. He is wearing short white jama, pink and gold brocade patka with floriated patterns, gold brocade turban, yellow trousers striped with pink green and crimson, and crimson slippers. He has a long grey scarf slung across his chest and over his right shoulder. The background is pale turquoise fading into blue at the extreme top. The ground is diapered with clumps of delicate and minute flowers. The picture is defaced by a hole and trail left by a white ant.
