Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, an ascetic, wearing a white dhoti edged with red; he carries a white cloth edged with yellow over his left arm. He has a moustache, yellow caste-marks on his face, and wears over his white turban a curious hat of leaves. Round his neck are beads from which there hangs a small cross. He carries a thin staff in his right hand, and a string of beads in his left. The background is pale turquoise, streaked faintly at the top with purple. The mount is red with a dull green border.
