Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, a night scene. A prince in mauve turban and trousers and transparent white jama reclines on a grey bed with deep yellow coverlet beneath a grey canopy edged with gold. A drowsy maid kneels by the side of the bed. To the right, an old woman with her arm around the shoulder of a young girl conducts her toward the prince. The prince idly watches her advance from his vantage point, smoking a huqqa. The old woman wears a white dress with a deep yellow shawl. Blackish-grey background.
