Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, an encampment of Maharana Sangram Singh of Mewar (r. 1710-1734) and his retinue beside the Udai Sagar, a cave about 10 km from Udaipur. The ruler of Mewar, identified by his halo, is seen twice in this painting, shooting arrows at waterfowl and a water-buffalo. An inscription on the reverse of the painting states that the camp is on the shores of lake Udai Sagar near Udaipur. The ruler's private enclosure of red tents is shown, along with lesser enclosures of his servants. Horses, elephants and camels are tethered in the lower part of the encampment.
