Løvstrøm was born in Denmark and then later became an American citizen known as Thomas Wilfred. Studied art in Paris; studied voice in London; assumed professional name of Thomas Wilfred; moved to U.S. in 1916, naturalized 1922; studied photography, theatrical lighting design; d. Aug. 15, 1968; combined music composition, art and theatrical lighting into an art form.
