Tolliver, Mose
American painter and naive artist, born ca. 1915-2006
American painter was self-taught and used house paint and other recycled materials to create his images of people, animals, and nature. He is considered one of the foremost 'outsider' artists to emerge in the 1980s and 1990s. His birth date may be as late as 1920. He began painting in the 1960s and initially sold his work in the front yard of his house.
