Italian painter and engraver, 1615-1673

Dtudied first with Francesco Francanzano, his brother-in-law. At the age of 17, on the death of his father, he painted a large number of landscapes, seascapes, small historical compositions, battle scenes and festivities which he exhibited in the main square, selling them for next to nothing in order to survive.
