Fitz, Grancel
American photographer and illustrator, 1894-1963
Born 17 August 1894; died 12 May 1963. In 1914, Fitz began taking photographs in the pictorialist tradition as a hobby. Fitz sold photographic materials until 1920 when he became a professional illustrator and advertising photographer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1929, Fitz opened a commercial photographic studio in New York City, New York.
