Blake, Peter

English painter and illustrator, born 1932

English painter studied at the Royal College of Art, London. He taught at St. Martin's School of Art 1960-1962, at the Harrow School of Art, and at Walthamstow School of Art, and at the Royal College of Art 1964-1976. His first solo exhibition was at the Portal Gallery, London, 1962. He is considered one of the first 'Pop' artists in Britain and is noted as the co-creator of the cover art for the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album.
