Bates, Kenneth F.

American enamel artist, 1904-1994

A graduate of the Massachusetts School of Art in Boston, Bates was hired by the Cleveland School of Art in 1927 to teach classes in watercolor, design, jewelry, drawing, and perspective. He was a highly versatile artist, a prolific writer, a skilled teacher, and an indomitable champion of enameling.
