Bowl, Early 1200s. Syria (Raqqa), Ayyubid Period. Fritware with underglaze-painted design; diameter: 22.5 cm (8 7/8 in.); overall: 11.5 cm (4 1/2 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of the John Huntington Art and Polytechnic Trust 1915.639 The inside of the bowl contains saggar spurs.
