Inscription: handwritten inscription identifying the subject, on the verso Remark: The inscription identifies the subject as a king of Bikaner who was one of the first Hindu rulers to align with the Mughal emperor and turn his lands over to Mughal suzerainty. The close allegiance of this king with the Mughal emperor is also expressed in the choice of Mughal styles in the creation of Bikaner painting.
