Working in a photojournalistic mode, he captured this behind-the-scenes glimpse of CBS Television’s coverage of an election for American Congressional and gubernatorial seats. It is included in his 1962 book I Love Television. George Stephanopoulos, who donated this photograph to the museum, is a television news host, political commentator, and former advisor to Democratic candidates. Before computers, television stations tallied incoming election returns using adding machines and changed the numbers on the results display by hand.
