Bow Fibula, 500–550. Frankish, 6th century. Silver gilt and niello; overall: 7.7 x 4.5 x 1.1 cm (3 1/16 x 1 3/4 x 7/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Joe Hatzenbuehler 2007.222 Niello is a mix of metals that was common material for decorating jewelry at the time.
