Lidded Jar with Horn Handle, AD 400s-500s. Korea, Silla (57 BC-935) or Kaya (AD 42-562) period. Red earthenware with impressed designs and applied red slip; overall: 10.8 cm (4 1/4 in.); 9.1 cm (3 9/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of the John D. Proctor Foundation 1997.21 Closed kilns built on hillsides became widely used for producing this type of pottery vessel in Korea during the Three Kingdoms period.
