The Cleveland Museum of Art, James Parmelee Fund 1984.10 Floral and animal motifs are common decoration found on vessels designed by John D. Wareham for the Cincinnati-based Rookwood Pottery Company. Here, bright yellow sunflowers around the mouth of the vase are enhanced by stark black.
