Bodhidharma Crossing the Yangzi on a Reed, 1300s. China, Yuan dynasty (1271-1368). - Inscription: 蘆花風起浪頭高，少室岩前去路遙。 劫外一花開五葉，腳跟正好喫藤條。 Translation: Poem and 2 seals of the priest Liao’an Qingyu 了庵清欲 (1288–1363). The wind sweeps through the blooming reeds and stirs the waves high. There is still a long way to the cliff of Mt. Shaoshi. Beyond the world of kalpas, a flower blossoms into five petals. My fleeting feet could not forestall the whipping by a rattan cane.
