Dean Perry 1962.279.69.b The deceitful handmaiden addresses the king, who sits against a golden floral backdrop. She appeals for the sixth time to have the young prince executed. In the lower register, the prince kneels with his hands bound, awaiting execution. The king’s vizier, dressed in orange, once again stalls the execution. Both the handmaiden and the vizier have been overpainted and repositioned.
