Decorative Arts

Kimbel and Cabus was not the only firm to reinterpret Edwin Oppler’s designs. Working for the Chicago furniture maker Frederick W. Krause, German cabinetmaker Henry Rumpke created a version that closely matched Oppler’s design. Rumpke appears to have brazenly claimed credit for the design by applying for a patent.
